Let the Sunshine In

Sunshine Productions has announced that the Sunshine Music Festival will be held in Hattieville, Arkansas on October 7th through the 11th. Gates will open at 2 p.m. Thursday and close at 2 p.m. Monday. The Sunshine Music Festival will take place on Sunshine Farm at 67 Turnage Lane. Music starts Thursday at 5 p.m. and at 2 p.m. each day thereafter. Travis Turnage of Sunshine Productions said he is using this festival to launch his Earth Energy Awareness Plan. This plan involves raising funds for the purpose of placing solar and wind energy production systems in Arkansas schools in order to assist with rising energy prices and also to raise community awareness on green energy issues and technologies. “Fifty percent of our ticket profits will fund the Earth Energy Awareness Plan; the remaining fifty percent will fund the next Sunshine Music Festival so we may reproduce our efforts and make a bigger and better impact on Arkansas schools through green energy,” Turnage said. Vendors will be offering various food and merchandise for sale, and grounds for disk golf, horseshoes, hacky sack and nature walks and hikes will be available. The festival will feature more than twenty musical groups on two stages. The event is a camp-in and is family friendly.

You may purchase a ticket online at www.sunshinemusicfestival.com, at the Hole in the Wall skate shop on Broadway in Morrilton, or at the Bear’s Den on Farris Road in Conway behind the University of Central Arkansas. Tickets are discounted for ages under 14, and admission is free for children 4 years and younger. Discounts will be given for student IDs and military personnel and their families. Ticket options start at $25. Limited VIP and RV spots with 30-amp electric, water, and sewer hookups are available. Vendor and sponsor opportunities are available by contacting Turnage at (501) 733-7715 or at travisturnage@sunshinemusicfestival.com.
