What's in a Name

How did you come up with the name for your blog?

Leave us a comment with the low-down.

  1. Before the family moved to the farm, the question was always where is... and the answer was At The Farm.

It seemed natural for the blog, especially when I raised miniature horses. Instead of having a ranch name in front of the registered name, I placed At The Farm at the end.

Our first colt was Walking Small At The Farm, barn name Buford. I love to play with words!

  2. Amy's Lighthouse came about due to the fact that I love lighthouses and what they mean to me. Lighthouses have a special meaning for me because, we are to be shining lights to those in the world (Matthew 5:16) and a lighthouse shines its light on those in need of it.
Anyway, I wanted my blog to be a insperation to others, so it became My Lighthouse!

  3. MidnightQuiltMom got its name because I am frequently up sewing after the rest of the family is in bed. It's my only quiet, free time.

  4. The first three letters of our very long, very German last name are E-g-g. Hence, "My Egg-citing Life" (my life is anything but exciting - but it's definitely "egg-citing"). My blog is basically my online baby book since I don't have time to keep a paper one right now. When I was part of Daring Bakers I kept my baking on another blog that I called "A Half Dozen Eggs" - my husband + me + four children = a half dozen Eggs. :)

  5. Gerbera daisies were my wedding flowers, and about the only thing perfect on my wedding day. I have a post about the name of my blog here:

  6. My Life and How It's Going was easy to come up with... my blog is about just that - My Life and How It's Going.

  7. My farms name is WillowTreeCreek Farm. I love willow trees and originally wanted just to call it Willow tree farm but we thought it made it sound like we farmed willow trees so we decided to add the creek to it although I'm not sure why. My original website was willowtreecreek.com but some people had a hard time remembering that so our new domain is eggsandherbs.com since we sell eggs and herbs!

  8. Mine is The Park Wife because I am the wife of a state park superintendent. Um, as I type this I am thinking how this is not too creative, oh well, I am who I am and not changing it now.

  9. I took a picture of one of the murals for the Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs and I loved that picture so much, I decided I'd create a blog around it! BTW, there's these murals painted on the side of red brick buildings that advertise the hotel. As far as I know, there are two different murals for the majestic Crescent Hotel. The photo I have is of the mural as you first come into the downtown. It's right across the street from the Basin Park where the stage is set back in the limestone bluffs.

  10. I wish I had came up with something clever, but our blog is just our family name. Maybe one day I'll change it, but only if I can come up with something really good.

  11. Nothing too exciting. I am from Panama originally so Tales from A Panamamama seemed appropriate! :)

  12. V and I rode stickhorses together as children - over 50 years ago (yikes!). We wrote about this name on our blog, and the stories can be found in our archives under "Stickhorses."

We found stickhorses to be mystical, wonderful tools in our dreamy play time--and symbolic of how our imaginations can remain tools throughout our livess--we're STILL Stickhorse Cowgirls! C

  13. It is a play off of the 'Got Milk?' ads and part of my last name. And when I started my blog, my blog title was a visual way for me to be joyful, especially in my circumstances.

  14. My blog name is Baby and the Beasts: Life in a Menagerie. I have two cats (one of them very neurotic), a needy dog and an 11-month-old daughter. It definitely feels like a zoo around our house sometimes!

  15. My blog title, Instead of the Dishes, refers to the fact that there are lots of other things that I would rather be doing (and writing about) than housework. I'm admittedly addicted to my computer, and often will type away with a cloud of guilt over my head as I sit among piles of unfolded laundry and unmopped floors.

The blog title also gives me the flexiblity to write about just about anything (except the dishes, I guess).
