The stress is put on what we were doing wrong in the eyes of other people rather than building a strong relationship with a loving God. Thank you, Park Wife, for putting it so well! We have struggled to find a church precisely because there is too much religion Amberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15111489382803879946noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2004230423104346246.post-37470242730311017962010-10-31T16:51:57.989-05:002010-10-31T16:51:57.989-05:00Alright, everyone hold on to your hats...the conse...Alright, everyone hold on to your hats...the conservative christian, homeschool mama The Park Wife agrees with you on MANY of your points. I love me some Jesus, but do not like or am a part of organized religion (o.k. get up off the floor). I feel that the church puts God and His love and forgiveness is this little box with rules and if you do not follow them then you are not accepted into their The Park Wifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02591149300094881480noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2004230423104346246.post-8000859501746374792010-10-26T16:34:11.720-05:002010-10-26T16:34:11.720-05:00@Brooke, I'm here in LR.@Brooke, I'm here in LR.Kellihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05835418660606605360noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2004230423104346246.post-36875252169443681602010-10-26T15:25:22.901-05:002010-10-26T15:25:22.901-05:00Thanks, Fawn. But I disagree with so much of it, I'm getting to the point that I'm not willing to expose Sadie to it while she's so impressionable. The last time we went to church with Trevor's family in TN, there were a number of things the preacher said that made me think, Sadie is just about old enough to start Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17537444773579775982noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2004230423104346246.post-39072893924766674832010-10-25T19:37:05.786-05:002010-10-25T19:37:05.786-05:00Definitely a brave post. And still, I've considered going to church for the community aspect of it. I grew up in a very arrogant church who felt (still do) that they are the only ones with a ticket through the pearly gates. I just couldn't go along with that. I was raised Southern Baptist but grew tired of leaving church in tears because it felt more like a popularity contest than a place of worship. Over the years I began to question religion and unimpressed by the answers given, I found my ability to believe less and less. <br />Where do I fallKellihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05835418660606605360noreply@blogger.com
